Bangladesh-based Largest Agricultural Finance and Supply Chain Platform i-Farmer launched in 2018 with a view to enabling Bangladeshi farmers to have direct market access and ensure a fair price for each product and solve other complex problems. Fahad Ifaz, co-founder and CEO of this agri-tech startup, and Jamil M Akbar, another co-founder and COO, have so far collected $730,000 in seed fund investments. The last time they collected their seed fund was on October 30, 2020. They raised the fund from Dubai-based investor Falcon Network and Accelerating Asia. This Graduate Platform of Accelerating Asia is currently supported by UNCDF Fintech Innovation Fund and Startup Bangladesh IDEA Project. Since October 2019, i-Farmer has been working in an insurance partnership with Green Delta to cover any unforeseen accidents and to ensure sponsor protection. In 2018, the Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh won the "Startup with the Most Social Impact" award. He also made it to the UNDP Youth COLab's Top Five Business in 2019 and the Echoing Green Social Impact Business finalist. Ifarmer aims to connect 50,000 farmers through the supply chain network within three years. Selling their products directly to middle-class urban wholesale buyers such as exporters, online raw markets and supershops. By creating a strong information-rich supply chain, iFarmer aims to become the largest bitumen supplier in the country and increase production of fresh and quality agricultural products in the country, further enriching the export sector.
